THE SOLDIER AND THE POLICEMAN
By Alan C. Edwards

I would like to give my thoughts on the proper function of police. I remember in my youth that policemen were called peace officers, a term I rarely hear anymore. Now they are called law enforcement officers, and laws have multiplied far beyond the exigencies of justice and common sense.
I see the police being militarized. I see them with combat boots, body armor, automatic weapons, tanks, armored personnel carriers, helicopters, and ski masks for terror effect, all of which are now prominent features of the new policeman. The picture of the government thug with an automatic weapon in the face of a terrified little boy, wearing body armor, combat helmet, and goggles “capturing” little Elian Gonzales for his forced return to Cuba is the picture of what law enforcement has become.
Soldiers and policemen in former times had totally different jobs. Soldiers made war. Policemen made peace. The soldier’s job was to kill people and destroy property. The policeman’s job was to save lives and protect property.
Soldiers are being used all over the world as UN “peacekeepers” while policemen are acting like soldiers against the American people. An FBI sharpshooter gets a medal for killing a woman holding her baby. Two government agencies, the BATF and the FBI, shot, gassed, bombed, and incinerated over 80 men, women, and children at Waco, Texas using tanks and helicopters. Nobody was held accountable.
Hearings held by congressional committees to “investigate” this needless slaughter were a perversion of justice. The intent was not to investigate but to coverup the willful murder of the Branch Davidians. The absurd lies told by the government were not effectively challenged, but bolstered and encouraged by some members of the committee. All efforts to hold anyone accountable for this atrocity have been sabotaged.
The new policeman is now being trained as a soldier and is being educated by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith and the Southern Poverty Law Center to think of American citizens as criminals and/or potential terrorists. In fact, the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) has entered into a partnership arrangement with the FBI. FBI director, Robert Mueller, addressed the ADL with these words:
“We in the FBI tremendously value your perspectives and your partnership. Your insights and research into extremism are particularly helpful to us. Your support of hate crime and terrorist investigations, which are now front and center in the work of the FBI, is essential to us. And the training and education you provide have never been more relevant. That includes the conference on extremist and terrorist threats you are sponsoring later this month at the FBI Academy. . . . So thank you for all these efforts. And again, I look forward to working with you to strengthen our partnership.” One needs only to look at the long list of people and organizations that are the subject of the Jews’ hatred and wrath to see who is being identified for the FBI as the enemies of America by the ADL.”
