Time crumbles things; everything grows old under the power of Time and is forgotten through the lapse of Time.
~Aristotle, Physics

Piety requires us to honor truth above our friends.

At the heart of science is an essential balance between two seemingly contradictory attitudes: an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless skeptical scrutiny of all ideas, old and new. This is how deep truths are winnowed from deep nonsense.
~Carl Sagan

It is unlikely that we will ever see a star being born. Stars are like animals in the wild. We may see the very young, but never their actual birth, which is a veiled and secret event. Stars are born inside thick clouds of dust and gas in the spiral arms of the galaxy, so thick that visible light cannot penetrate them.
~Heinz R. Pagels, Perfect Symmetry: The Search for the Beginning of Time (1985), p. 44

No research will answer all queries that the future may raise. It is wiser to praise the work for what it has accomplished and then to formulate the problems still to be solved.
~Theobald Smith, letter to Dr. E. B. Krumhaar (11 Oct 1933), in Journal of Bacteriology (Jan 1934), 27, No. 1, p. 19.

In much of society, research means to investigate something you do not know or understand.
~Neil Armstrong (b. 1930), American astronaut, the first man to set foot on the moon.

It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
~Albert Einstein

The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.

Perhaps the very best question that you can memorize and repeat, over and over, is, “What is the most valuable use of my time right now?”
~Brian Tracy

The winners in life think constantly in terms of I can, I will, and I am. Losers, on the other hand, concentrate their waking thoughts on what they should have or would have done, or what they can’t do.

The lawyers, profs,*

The people down,
To great regret.

University Moves to Fire Sandy Hook Denier

It reflects well on a university to keep a professor who maintains his unpopular views. It reflects poorly on a university when it bows to public pressure and fires a professor.

The vast majority of lawyers like to pretend we’re not in a police state. After all, if they did recognize what it is, they would have to do something about it.

This is ever the test of the scholar: whether he allows intellectual fastidiousness to stand between him and the great issues of his time. - John Morley

The Professor

I am a prof
And I’m afraid
To question those
From whom I’m paid.

And Paperclip

Succeeded well

To drag this land

Toward Nazi hell.

I’m convinced folks, with what evidence I’ve gathered through the years of research and factual evidence, that we are in Hitler’s dream of a “Fourth Reich” in America run by psychopaths. Germany didn’t entirely lose WWII, Nazi scientists were moved (Operation Paperclip) from Germany to America. History is repeating itself again.
