2 Chronicles 28:3

How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock.
And their bows will mow down the young men, They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb, Nor will their eye pity children.
See, O LORD, and look! With whom have You dealt thus? Should women eat their offspring, The little ones who were born healthy? Should priest and prophet be slain In the sanctuary of the Lord?
Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah;
Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became very enraged, and sent and slew all the male children who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi. Then what had been spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “A VOICE WAS HEARD IN RAMAH, WEEPING AND GREAT MOURNING, RACHEL WEEPING FOR HER CHILDREN; AND SHE REFUSED TO BE COMFORTED, BECAUSE THEY WERE NO MORE.”
Keep on going
The battles are tough
The war is long
Keep on going
You have the stuff
Your heart is strong
Keep on going
You have enough
The right the wrongs
God said to fill the earth and take dominion
Over it, so men harnessed nature’s laws
With floating farms and coffee-powered cars,
The hoverboards and mines on asteroids,
Easy tattoo removal from the skin,
Transhuman tech, space kites, robots that draw,
Weather control and terraforming Mars,
Dyson spheres, penicillin, cyborgs, androids:
Man takes dominion over every breath,
Advances medicine to fight death’s grin,
Strengthens the people, healthier each day;
But no device can soften man’s hard heart.
Man can extend a life but can’t crush death
To bits, because no tool can wipe out sin,
As only Jesus’ blood takes sin away:
Man’s saved when he submits to God’s great art.
More Than My Savior
More than my Savior who has died for sins,
More than the sacrifice for all that’s wrong,
He is the Lord of life, who keeps me strong.
To turn my life to Him, I’m sure to win.
When I am weak and fall, He lifts me up,
When I have lost the way, He is the light;
With Jesus’ help I’ll drink a bitter cup
Or climb to any hill or mountain’s height.
Through Him the world was made and He does know
Temptations that attack our fragile hearts:
He knows because He took on flesh below
And on the cross he bid His spirit part.
I kneel before the majesty of Him
Who fills my life and spirit to the brim.
LEVITICUS CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
1 God said to Moses, 2 “Speak to Aaron and
His sons and Israelites and say to them:
‘The Lord commands 3 that any Israelite
Who’s sacrificed an ox, a lamb or goat
Inside the camp or outside camp 4 instead
Of bringing it up to the entrance to
The meeting tent to make an offering
To God before God’s tabernacle—that person
Shall have blood-guilt; they have shed blood and must
Be cut off from their people. 5 This is so
The Israelites will bring up to the Lord
The sacrifices in the open fields
That they make now; they have to bring them to
The priest, that is, up to the Lord, right at
The entrance to the meeting tent, where they
Will sacrifice them as the offerings
Of fellowship; 6 the priest shall splash the blood
Against the altar of the Lord right at
The entrance to the meeting tent and burn
The fat as an aroma pleasing to
The Lord. 7 They must no longer offer any
Sacrifices to the goat idols to
Whom they sell themselves: This is to be
A lasting ordinance for them and for
The future generations.’ 8 Say to them
This: ‘Any Israelite or foreigner
Who lives with them who offers up a burnt
Offering or a sacrifice 9 and does
Not bring it to the entrance to the tent
Of meeting for a sacrifice to God
Must be cut off from Israelites. 10 I’ll set
My face against an Israelite or any
Foreigner who resides among them who
Eats blood, and I will separate them from
The people, 11 for a creature’s life is in
The blood, and I have given it to you
To make atonement for yourselves upon
The altar; it’s the blood that makes atonement
For one’s life, 12 so I tell the Israelites,
“None of you may eat blood; a foreigner who
Resides along with you must not eat blood.
13 An Israelite or foreigner residing
With you who hunts an animal or bird
That you can eat must drain the blood out and
Cover it up with earth, 14 because the life
Of every creature is its blood.” That is
Why I have told the Israelites, “You must
Not eat the blood of any creature, for
The blood—that is the creature’s life, and one
Who eats it must be cut off. 15 Anyone,
Whether he’s native-born or foreigner,
Who eats a thing found dead or torn up by
Wild animals must wash their clothes and bathe
With water, and they will be ritually
Unclean till evening; then they will be clean,
16 But if they do not wash their clothes and bathe
Themselves, they will be punished for bad faith.’”
For in the Good News
A righteousness from God’s revealed from faith
To faith, as Scripture says: “The just will live
By faith.” The wrath of God has been revealed
From heaven brought against the godlessness
And wickedness of men who push away
The truth in sinfulness, because what may
Be known of God is plain to them, for God
Has made it plain to them. For since the world
Was made, the Lord’s eternal power and
Divinity–his traits that can’t be seen–
Have been apparent, being understood
From what has been created, so that men
Have no excuse, for yes, they knew God but
They did not glorify Him nor give thanks
To Him, but thought up silly things of God;
Their foolish hearts were darkened. Though they claimed
That they were wise, they changed to fools and then,
Instead of worshiping the glorious
Eternal God, carved images to look
Like mortal man, birds, beasts, and reptiles so
God gave them over in their hearts debased
Desires to sexual impurity
For one another to degrade their
And mutual dishonor of their bodies.
They changed the truth of God into a lie,
And served and worshiped the created things
Rather than the Creator−who is praised
Eternally. Amen. Because of this,
God gave them over to their shameful lusts.
Even their women went against God’s plan
For them, committing sex sin with each other.
And men, instead of having normal sex
With women, were inflamed with lust for one
Another. Men committed shameful acts
With other men, receiving in themselves
The penalty deserved for their perversion.
And since they did not think it worth their while
To recognize the LORD, He gave them up
To do whatever their perverted minds
Conceived of doing, being filled with
All kinds of wickedness and sin, with greed
And wickedness, with envy, murder, strife,
Deceit and malice, gossip, slander, God–
Hatred, backbiting, arrogance and pride,
Always inventing ways of doing sins;
They disobey their parents, and they’re inane
And faithless, heartless and remorseless. Though
They know God’s righteous decree that those who
Do things like these deserve to die, they not
Only continue doing those same things
But they approve the one so practicing.
