“Solid Rock,” poem by Day Williams

This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNER stone,”

~1 Peter 2:7

Let me stand on solid rock
And hear the high winds howl,
Let me stop the crooked clock,
Be a tiger on the prowl.
Send me back to the womb
To find the cord that binds–
Before I reach the tomb
I’ll absorb all hearts and minds;
And stop to watch the ant
Who makes his hills of sand.
To him the hills are giant:
He cannot see my hand.
So I make hills of hours
And fill my hills with sons.
Love grows sweet, red flower,
I see some glowing suns.

This is the Face

This is the Face

Was this the face that launch’d a thousand ships
And burnt the topless towers of Ilium?
Sweet Helen, make me immortal with a kiss.

~Christopher Marlowe, Doctor Faustus

This is the face that launched a thousand ships,
This face with tear-soaked cheeks and swollen lips,
Half-mad eyes, a tongue that rips,
Slanted teeth, cracked and chipped,
That chew but cannot grip,
Gray hair with white at the tips,
This, the face that launched a thousand ships.

Two Sexes

(Genesis 2:21-24)

Two Sexes

From dust God formed

Two sexes, dear,

And only two:

Man, woman . . . clear?

June 25: “Battle of Tours,” a poem

Amy Mek: Opposing Islam is no more RACIST than opposing German National Socialism or Soviet Communism. It has NOTHING to do w/ color or ethnicity & everything 2 do w/ a political-theocratic ideology that demands submission or death of the infidel, elimination of gays & submission of women.

Battle of Tours (732 A.D.)

Come save us, Hammer, from Muslim hordes
So we can serve and worship Christ our Lord

The Arabs pierced the Pyrenees, invaded
The Franks, and pounded north toward Tours, where they’d
Plunder the Abby of St. Martin, rich
And holy shrine–but their plan had a glitch,

For Charles Martel avoided roads, and brought
His army over mountains, the blind spot
For Arabs, who had to defeat this force
To get to Tours, and with their many horses

And stirrups (Franks had none), the seventh day
They charged uphill at Franks who fought and stayed
And thrust them back, while others circled round,
Took booty and freed slaves, to their renown.

The Muslim host fled from the enemy
And Christian Charles Martel claimed victory.

Come save us, Hammer, from Muslim hordes
So we can serve and worship Christ our Lord

Hate Speech

Hate speech, however you may define it, is protected under the First Amendment. It is not protected from Google and Facebook Nazis who determine (arbitrarily, capriciously, and anti-conservatively), what is “Hate Speech” and proceed to censor it.
