Did your profs teach that putting down whites
Would make you more righteous and right?
And if you disparage the Prez and his ilk,
That will nourish us like your mother’s milk?
And if you pretend a woman’s a man
(Completely contrary to our God’s plan)
And you say “racist” when opponents speak,
Does that mean that you’re smarter than a geek?
Well, you were taught wrong from bottom to top
And the time has come to grow up and stop,
Unlearn toxic lessons, move forward at last,
Flush the poison from your mistaught past.
As for my house,
We’ll serve the Lord,
And in due time
Reap sure rewards.
My brother and I moved wheellines through corn one summer.
Clink! Thirty silver pieces in his palm,
Judas betrayed Him with a kiss at night,
Regretted it, tossed back the coins–no balm–
Went forth confused, committed suicide.
Overlooked for promotion, snubbed and bruised,
Or so this brilliant general complained,
So he betrayed America for loot,
And his Boot Monument–it bears no name.
Her handler-driver was a Chinese spy
Who noted every mood, each word she said;
She talked about the nation’s secrets–
Lied to FBI, said she was no Red.
Some will betray their country; some, a friend:
Betrayers never come to a good end.
