More Than My Savior
More than my Savior who has died for sins,
More than the sacrifice for all that’s wrong,
He is the Lord of life, who keeps me strong.
To turn my life to Him, I’m sure to win.
When I am weak and fall, He lifts me up,
When I have lost the way, He is the light;
With Jesus’ help I’ll drink a bitter cup
Or climb to any hill or mountain’s height.
Through Him the world was made and He does know
Temptations that attack our fragile hearts:
He knows because He took on flesh below
And on the cross he bid His spirit part.
I kneel before the majesty of Him
Who fills my life and spirit to the brim.
I’ll post Samson’s dramatic monologue on Saturday.
A masterpiece, if I do say so myself.

The rush and roar . . .
The rush and roar of waves breaking the shore,
The golden leaves that drop to ground in fall,
Clean air that whooshes through the nose and pores–
Against delights like these you might seem small,
Except you hold the world between your palms,
Preserving love, the treasure of the heart.
You bless the man who gives his neighbor alms
And shape our brotherhood past highest art.
In telling wealthy men to give to poor,
In curing men mad, crippled, deaf and blind,
In taking seven loaves, making them more,
You show the best of human heart and mind.
Your Father's granted you the perfect power To bring good news and love to us each hour.
This is refreshing. The Muslims in the area offered to protect the Catholic churches from IS extremists.
Outside the cathedral, people’s attention was drawn to tarpaulin signs showing messages against extremists and terrorists.
One banner said: “The enemy is not Muslim or Christian. The real enemy is Extremism.”
Another said, “[IS] is not Islam. Terrorism has no religion,” while a third said, “Nagkakaisa Muslims at Christians laban sa terorismo (Muslims and Christians united against terrorism).”
